FAQ’s

Q – How long does a casting session take?

A – All casting sessions are booked for a minimum of 2 hours.

This allows time for meet & greet upon arrival, final discussion about your casting & set-up / clean-up of work space. The actual casting takes approximately 30 minutes from the laying of the first bandage and by the time the last strip of plaster is laid across your belly the first strip is dry and the casting ready to be removed.

Q – Will the casting stick to my body?

A – No. Generous amounts of Vaseline are used to create a protective barrier between the skin and the plaster cast, which allows the casting to easily slip off the belly when dry.

Q – How will I display my finished casting?

A – Hanging loops are fastened into the inside of your casting, allowing for ribbon, wire, rope or whatever you choose to use to hang your casting display.

Q – What do the plaster bandages feel like on my body?

A – The plaster bandages are cool when first applied to the skin and warms as it dries.

Q – What happens to my casting after the casting session?

A – If you order a custom finish, your Baby Belly Casting is taken to my studio for finishing and then returned to you when completed.

Q – When should I get a Baby Belly Casting done?

A – The ideal time to have a Baby Belly Casting done is Month 8 (4-6 weeks prior to delivery).

or

Month by month to document the growth of your beautiful baby body starting at the end of the first trimester
(month 3 / week 12)

Q – Where would I display my Baby Belly Casting?

A – That’s really up to you but some suggestions are… in your baby’s nursery/room or living room.
